Seam Orientation in storage

Seam Orientation in storage

Postby Krish » Thu Oct 24, 2013 7:13 pm

The client is insisting that while storing SAW seam tubular (12 m lengths) in storage yard (3-4 layers) the SAW seems to be put in stress free neutral axis such as seam in 2 o'clock or 10 o'clock position. Is it specified in any standard or engineering practices? Please advice…

Krish,
No.
However, if it is stated in the project specifications then the client is right.
If it is not, and it will increase your time/cost ask the client to show you where it is specifically listed,
Cheers,
