Postby vipul143 » Thu Oct 31, 2013 12:33 pm

Dear Sir,

We have been asked by our client to provide ASTM A216 WCB valve body with internal cladding of ALLOY 825.

Does anybody have experience or idea about this subject?

Regards,

Vipul

Incoloy alloy 825 (nickel iron chromium alloy) welding overlay provides exceptional resistance to a variety of different corrosive environments (chloride-ion, sulfuric and phosphoric acids, nitric acid, nitrates and oxidizing salt, etc) for products such as pressure vessels, pipelines, valves, etc. Regarding production welding overlays, you shall qualify the welding procedure and the welder in accordance to project welding requirements. For example if the weldings are to be performed under the scope of ASME IX, then you shall follow the QW-453. The suggested filler metal is the AWS 5.14, ERNiFeCr-1 using GMAW process for reasons of higher productivity.
